
Yao Huang
Peter Yao Huang is a native of Nanjing, China (Jiangsu Province) where he graduated in 1987 from Nanjing Normal University with a degree in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).From there, he studied overseas in the United States at Northern Illinois University earning a Master’s degree in Art in 1992. He then returned to China working with artists and commemorative curators. “Art Healing” or using art as a medium for healing has been a pivotal and major theme utilized throughout Peter’s various art activities which include;exhibitions, seminars, organized events.Peter wrote four books; "Basking In the Sun” (An art activity traversing twenty years), “Art as Drug”(Drug Art Museum’s Test Report and Analysis),“Dream Travels-Art of the Universe”, “Soul Dictionary”. He is also Chief Editor for 7 series of books illustrating the healing powers of art in every day life,
Peter’s art collections feature: “Drug as Art”, “Soul Series”, “Moving Drugstore", etc. with Nanjing Drug Art Museum being the site for numerous international art events and installations. Discovery Channel (United States) and New York Times have covered and highlighted the progress of Peter Yao Huang’s art achievements and unique creative experimentation including other notable magazine/newspaper interviews throughout China, Asia-Pacific and worldwide.Peter has developed World Art Village in suburban Nanjing, China since 2013, it has become an area and activity conducive to transcending boundaries through“ART CREATION” from indoors to the great outdoors. It is an international art experimental field attracting artists from all over the world to work, create and share in environmentally-controlled surrounding blending art with nature.
